Hello Dave,
I look a look at your site. I would recommend you marginalize your video. I waited about 8 seconds for it to load and felt “stuck” visually. If you reduce the size of it, it will load faster. I would also not have it auto-play.

The homepage needs to be a view into the entire site, so I would fill up the video space with intro content to areas of the site people are most interested in (check your stats for the most popular pages and start there). I wrote a post on Homepage Strategy & Tip that should help.

I love your blog!!!!
Down to earth, and easy to understand.
Glad to see you are a champion for the little guy too.

Could you please look at my small business site and give me your impression? I know it needs some work, so before I screw it up again… I would value your input so it gets done right.

I built it myself over the years and has since become a monstrocity – like adding rooms onto a trailer.
Do I tear down the trailer and start over, or just remodel the rooms??

Plus, I need to do better with lead gen. I use Icontact for some things, but not nearly well enough.

Keep up the good work.
And by the way – how do you get paid?
